Custom Manufacturing

One of the key services provided by Kel-Gor is Custom Manufacturing. With our own drafting people on staff we can custom design your project to fit your needs, and with the sizable shop areas we can prebuild these items prior to on site installation.

• Pressure vessels up to 20' in diameter, 240' long, 2 1/4" wall, 160 tons in weight
• Fired heaters up to 31' in diameter by 190' high (plus 90' stack)
• Process equipment and piping modules up to 25' x 40' x 150' long, 225 tons in weight
• Cold boxes up to 15' x 25' x 100' long, 180 tons in weight
• Furncace convection modules up to 11' x 13' x 75' long, 154 tons in weight
  

Certified Welding Procedures

We are certified by the Ontario TSSA Boilers and Pressure Vessels Safety Division to weld piping and pressure components in various metallurgies.

We have over 100 welding procedures registered and many welders qualified under Section IX of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. The metallurgies include various ferrous and non-ferrous materials, from impact-tested steels to high-temperature high-strengths alloys:

Welding processes certified include SMAW, SAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and Brazing.

Towards our goal of product quality and process continuous improvement we are always evaluating new welding products and technology.

Air Liquide, Houston

• Fabrication of hydrogen recovery modules for Imerial Oil (Chemicals), Sarnia 1999/2000
• Scope: Fabrication of structured steel, piping, and 13 pressure vessels, assembly of modules including vessels, piping, electrical, and instrumentation.

• reactor tower for styrene plant, 1998
  • 19' diameter by 70', 13/8" wall thickness, stainless steel
• styrene tower for styrene plant, 1998
  • 19'/21' diameter by 240', complete with ladders, platforms, 78" diam. overhead line
• styrene tower overhead line, 78" diam.

• cold boxes and modular units for industrial gas production, 1994 through present
• oxygen and argon cold box units with cryogenic exchangers/vessel/piping, driox modules, auxilliary equipment modules, expander and pump ducts, and off skid piping, for various locations in Canada, USA, Far East & S. America
• scope typical: piping & structural design/fabrication/assembly, intrumentation, electrical, painting and insulation.

• 35 convection modules for 7 ethylene cracking furnaces for Nova, Alberta, 1998
• scope: plate/structural steel, tubesheets/tubes, refractory, paint
• metallurgies including high nickel-chrome alloy, 1 1/4% Cr and stainless steel
